Hello Bruin Fans,

Conference Champs! Conference Champs! Our 7th grade completed their conference championship season last night with a 36-0 win over Fall Creek Valley to finish 8-0. The 8th graders capped off the night with a 35-20 win over the Bearcats to win the MIIC as well finishing the season 7-1 and on a 7 game win streak. Congratulations to both teams on outstanding games last night and outstanding seasons.

In Volleyball our 7th graders completed the season sweep of Fall Creek Valley Wednesday night winning 2-0 while our 8th graders lost the match as they concluded the season. The 8th graders finished 4th in the overall MIIC standings.

Girls Golf  picked up two more wins this week defeating Fall Creek Valley on Monday before defeating Decatur and Speedway at Brickyard Crossing to end the season on Wednesday. The girls finished the season on a 4 match win streak defeating 6 teams along the way.

Boys Tennis completed their season last week in their match vs Fall Creek Valley.

Cross Country  completed the season at Saturday’s Marion County Championships where 18 runners posted PR’s. The boys team was led by Josh Cooper and Porter Rozak who both turned in top 20 times and the girls were led by Olivia Woodard.

Our Boys and Girls Soccer teams finished their seasons Wednesday vs Fall Creek Valley losing both matches to the Bearcats.

Fall Athletic Awards for football, cross country, cheerleading, soccer, and volleyball will be held on Monday October 14th beginning at 5:30. Girls Golf and Boys Tennis will have their awards the following day on October 15th also at 5:30. Parents should plan to enter door 14 for the awards.

The LC Bears Athletic Club (BAC) who provided dinner for our football and cheer teams last night will also be providing lunch for all of our fall athletes on Wednesday October 16th.  They are looking for a few volunteers and asked that we share this message with you:

  1. Lawrence Central Bears Athletic Club (BAC) will be celebrating all fall sports athletes from Belzer with a Fall Athlete Luncheon on Wednesday, October 16. Bears want the Bruins to know they are proud of what they accomplished this fall and are looking forward to welcoming them to LC! Parents are invited to volunteer to help with the lunch by going to to sign up. Go Bruins! Go Bears!

As the fall season concludes, it is time to look towards winter sports.
Boys Basketball Tryouts will begin Tuesday October 15th. Students must have a completed physical and online emergency form to try out.

Lawrence Central is beginning a Wrestling club for interested students in grades K-8. More information is on the attached flyer. Wrestling practices will begin here at Belzer following Thanksgiving.

Girls Basketball conditioning will be Tuesday and Thursday next week not Monday and Wednesday as previously announced. Tryouts for our girls basketball teams will begin December 5th.

Swimming tryouts will also begin following Thanksgiving.

Students who use the Activity Buses after practice must sign up online. These buses run Monday –Thursday and depart Belzer at 6:15 PM. The sign-up form for those buses is here:  Students who used the activity bus for fall sports will be required to sign up again after Fall Break if the intend to use if for winter sports.
